Dare to Go Bare: Chest Hair Removal Options

For better or worse, gone are the days when hairy chests were in style. The new trend is “dare to go bare,” and you see it everywhere: on celebrities, in the pages of magazines, and even at the local public pool. If you’re ready to trade in the hair for bare, here are your hair removal options.

Shaving & Tweezing

Shaving and tweezing are cheap ways to remove unwanted chest hair, but you will have to shave often to maintain the bare chest look. Plus, tweezing is painful and can take forever! For the best results, we recommend the methods below.

Waxing

If you’ve ever been waxed before, you know how painful it can be, even though it is very effective! If you’ve never tried it, hot wax is spread on the chest, and then a strip of cloth is applied on top of the wax. The cloth strip is very quickly pulled off, removing the hair and wax with it. We strongly recommend visiting a professional instead of trying it at home, as it can be extremely painful when you take the DIY approach.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair treatment (not to be confused with laser treatment of the skin) is the least painful hair removal option. It’s also one of the most effective, so it’s a great option when you’re looking for something semi-painless and lasting. A laser treatment is used to heat and kill hair follicles, with the goal of permanently reducing them. It’s fairly quick, as the laser targets patches of skin instead of individual hairs. This treatment is most effective on those with lighter-colored hair, so if you have darker hair, then you may need several sessions to remove all of your hair.

BroadBand Light (BBL) Treatments

Our BroadBand Light tool can be used to treat a variety of cosmetic issues, including hair removal. This device uses a broad range of wavelengths to accurately remove hair, even in problem areas like armpits. Also, since there is no downtime with this treatment, you can return to work or your daily activities right away.
