Are you interested in laser treatment? Our patients continually return to The Dermatology Clinic for all of their cosmetic dermatological needs, including laser skin treatments. Our team always stays on top of the latest trends and health care advances. We have done extensive research to discover which treatments are the most effective for our patients, and that’s why we currently offer Sciton Laser Skin Rejuvenation procedures. Our treatments, including BBL™ BroadBand Light, ProFractional™, and MicroLaserPeel®, can help turn the clock back on the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, dark spots, skin folds, and pores.
Laser skin treatments, or laser skin resurfacing, is a non-invasive cosmetic dermatology procedure that precisely removes skin layer by layer for a younger, healthier appearance. The procedures are commonly used to address blemishes caused by aging, acne, warts, scars, wrinkles or lines, birthmarks, enlarged oil glands on the nose, blotches caused by sun exposure, and non-responsive skin after a facelift. Laser treatments have become increasingly popular, and as new laser technologies increase the level of control available to doctors, they have achieved absolute precision, even in delicate areas. This targeted technique also results in fewer hypopigmentation problems than laser acne scar removal.
Laser skin treatments are a low-risk procedure, as they only use beams of light to remove damaged skin in the epidermis. The doctor will use a tool to precisely send the concentrated beams of light, removing the outer skin one layer at a time. At the same time, the laser tool heats the dermis, the underlying layer of skin. This heat stimulates the growth of new collagen fibers. Within a few days after the treatment, dehydrated skin will flake away. Healing can take from 10 to 21 days, and after the healing phase, patients find that their new skin is smoother and firmer. Following the procedure, patients may feel stinging or itching for 12 to 72 hours, and we suggest wearing sunscreen when in direct sunlight, as well as moisturizing regularly. At The Dermatology Clinic, we provide three different skin laser treatments from Sciton. For enhanced rejuvenation results, these treatments can be paired together. During a consultation, our staff will help you determine which treatment or treatments will best help you achieve your desired results.
With a broad range of wavelengths, BroadBand Light is ideal for treating acne spots, pigmented lesions like freckles and age spots, vascular lesions like cherry angiomas and rosacea, deeper lesions, darker skin types, hair removal, and more. There is no downtime with this laser. This treatment can reach challenging areas, evenly treating all skin. The BroadBand Light tool uses a thermoelectric monitoring assembly to enable its sensors and sapphire crystals to maintain continually accurate temperatures.
ProFractional uses tunable resurfacing laser (TRL) technology to pinpoint and treat areas of skin with minimal downtime. Unlike other skin laser treatments, ProFractional’s lasers create very small channels in the skin. Through these narrow channels, only a fraction of the treatment area needs to be covered to activate fibroblast production, which results in fuller, revived skin. The surrounding tissue remains intact, and patients experience faster healing than other treatment methods. ProFractional is a quick, comfortable treatment that improves the overall appearance of skin, but it can also be paired with other treatments to achieve the desired outcome. It is commonly paired with MicroLaserPeel for a treatment that removes irregularities and promotes collagen remodeling.
This treatment is a very popular option for addressing mild wrinkles, scars, keratosis, sun damage, and pigment irregularities. The laser beam is scanned over an area to remove a thin layer of skin. During the healing process, new cells grow, creating a resurfaced area with a healthier appearance. The erbium laser can be adjusted for a gentle or more aggressive treatment. Following the treatment, patients may feel like they have a sunburn. Dehydrated skin peels or flakes away after 24 to 48 hours, and healing generally takes between two to four days.
Laser treatments can leave your skin feeling revived and looking years younger, but depending on your desired results, you may need multiple treatments or a combination of treatment options. The doctors and staff at The Dermatology Clinic can help you determine the best combination of treatments and schedule an appropriate amount of appointments. Our dermatologists and staff have chosen to provide Sciton Laser Skin Rejuvenation procedures because they are the most advanced, effective treatments available, with the ability to treat skin blemishes with minimal downtime. We also offer amenities to help make each patient as comfortable as possible before, during, and after their treatment. Our team offers laser treatments you can rely on in an environment that will redefine your perceptions of a doctor’s office.
