Timeline for Cosmetic Skin Treatments Before Your Wedding

By October 15, 2019May 11th, 2023Dermatology

If your wedding is just around the corner, you’ll want to look beautiful in every way. Cosmetic skin treatments can help you shine on your big day, but it’s important to time them properly so that you can heal in time for the ceremony.

Twelve Months Out

Although many skin treatments require minimal healing time, it’s best to come to The Dermatology Clinic at least a year ahead of your wedding to discuss your treatment options with our professionals. During this time, we can help you narrow down which areas you want to pay the most attention to, including redness, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, loose skin, or treatments to establish an overall glow.

Nine Months Out

At nine months out, it’s best to proceed with any and all treatments that require more time to heal. This includes deep chemical peels and microneedling treatments. While not every treatment requires extensive healing time, some of them require multiple appointments to get the best results, so you should start early just in case.

Six Months Out

Six months before a wedding still isn’t too late to initiate any of the above treatments, as long as you discuss the extent of desired treatment and healing times with our staff. Additionally, now is the time to start regenerating and healing the skin with broadband light therapy treatment if you have already started your pre-wedding skincare journey.

Three Months Out

At three months from the wedding, you should focus on treatments that are already underway. This is the time to discuss with our staff how close you are to your goals so that we can determine how many more appointments you’ll need to schedule to complete any ongoing treatments you have. As the wedding day nears, you shouldn’t introduce any new treatments to your skin.

One Month Out

At this point, we recommend that you avoid anything intense, including deep peels and extractions. However, it may be a perfect time for exfoliating treatments like our Deluxe HydraFacial with ZO Brightalive Treatment, as well as using products that can nourish your skin and help keep it healthy.

Every bride is different, which is why our physicians will give you personalized treatment to help you look your best on your big day. For more information about the procedures we offer at our Baton Rouge offices, call The Dermatology Clinic at (225) 769-7546 to schedule an appointment today.
